Dusty had so many “kudos” to his short life. Yes, he was BOW at the 1999 GDCA National Specialty in Oxnard, CA, finishing his CH with just 4 majors.  But for those who knew Dusty knew that his show career was just a small part of who he was. He was featured in a video to represent the Wyndham to promote dog shows in their chain and to welcome our 2003 GDCA National Specialty in Orlando.  He was also featured in two television newscasts on Channel 35. He was asked by Universal Studios to do a segment on the show “Ask the Veterinarian” when he was just 10 months old. He represented the breed at the Meet The Breed in Olrando, Florida for the Eukanuba Classic while welcoming over 50 children and countless adults for 8 hours and at the end could not stay up as he tired and  he just laid down on his matt and the children laid on him while parents took photos.

He was as large as life 39” at the withers and a heart to match his stature. He knew no strangers. The first time he met a kitty which was laying on a counter top, he went up to it and gave him one of his wispy kisses. And then the first time he met cows….he came flying across the field to see these large black objects that attracted him and whoa…….put his brakes on when he realized that the black objects moved and his rear legs completely came off the ground.

And how gently he could be around dogs and puppies who were a fraction of his size.

This is the Dusty I will miss. The soft kisses and little “ski-hop” he would do when I got home. His excitement when he thought he was going for a ride. How gently and sweet he greeted visitors. How he gently backed up and sat on their laps, including my grandson.

Until we are together again, be free, free of pain my sweet baby boy, my sweet angel.
